Your Role

As Data Architect & Engineer (f/m/x) in our Digital Lab Solutions department, you will design, build and optimize end-to-end data flows across our biomedical software ecosystem, with a strong focus on device-generated data from customer environments. You enable scalable, compliant and high-quality data pipelines to power advanced analytics, AI-driven applications and digital lab services.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing end-to-end data flows from device data ingestion through transformation, storage and consumption
  • Defining data models, structures and lifecycle concepts to ensure data quality, consistency and lineage
  • Developing scalable data architectures and contributing to platform integration, hybrid ecosystem design and technology strategy
  • Interpreting and representing regulatory requirements for data usage towards internal stakeholders, including Regulatory Affairs
  • Understanding data structures, workflows and requirements across departments and customer environments to align with business and scientific objectives
  • Identifying, prototyping and validating innovative data processing and analytics approaches through data-centric proof-of-concept solutions
  • Building FAIR-compliant data workflows and robust ETL/ELT pipelines to create high-quality, analysis-ready datasets for analytics and machine learning
  • Ensuring data governance, security and compliance by enabling traceability, lineage and audit readiness across the data lifecycle
  • Communicating data concepts and insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making

Your Profile

You are a strong match if you combine hands-on data engineering and architecture expertise with a structured mindset, strong communication skills and a passion for data-driven innovation in healthcare.

Ideally, you bring the following qualifications and strengths:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Bioinformatics or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering and/or data architecture, ideally in healthcare, diagnostics or other regulated environments
  • Strong experience in designing end-to-end data pipelines and data flow architectures as well as solid knowledge of distributed systems, cloud platforms (e.g. AWS), data architectures (e.g. data lakes, warehouses, event-driven systems), ETL/ELT frameworks, orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow) and Python programming
  • Knowledge of regulatory and data compliance requirements (e.g. GxP, ISO, GDPR) with the ability to translate them into practical data solutions; experience in regulated environments is a plus
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices, ideally familiarity with infrastructure as code, MLOps or statistical analysis
  • Experience with device-generated or IoT-like data is a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to translate complex data topics into business value
  • Fluent in English
