Your Role
As Team Lead (f/m/x) Clinical Flow Cytometry Applications, you lead and develop a team of application specialists while ensuring excellence in clinical flow cytometry application support, training and customer engagement across the EMEA region. You drive the continuous improvement of application processes and services, support business growth through close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the successful implementation and advancement of clinical flow cytometry solutions.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of application specialists through an ongoing growth phase while fostering a collaborative and performance-oriented team culture
- Aligning team priorities, resource planning and application activities with business objectives and regional strategies to ensure efficient delivery of core application services
- Ensuring high-quality application support for affiliates, distributors and customers, including installations, validations, troubleshooting, customer escalations and support for LDT development and validation throughout the sales process
- Managing Early Access placements of new products and supporting product evaluations, testing activities and implementation projects
- Driving the standardization, optimization and continuous improvement of application support processes, training concepts, workflows and service quality across the EMEA region
- Collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management and local organizations to strengthen customer success, expand application expertise across EMEA and incorporate Voice of Customer feedback into future product development
- Delivering application trainings, workshops and educational materials for internal and external stakeholders while supporting customer activities at headquarters and on-site when required
- Monitoring scientific, technological, regulatory and quality developments in clinical flow cytometry, including laboratory accreditation and external quality assessment requirements (e.g. CAP) and translating them into application strategies and customer value
Your Profile
You are a strong match for this role if you combine deep clinical flow cytometry expertise with people leadership capabilities, customer focus and the ability to drive change in an international environment.
Ideally, you bring the following qualifications and strengths:
- Degree or vocational training in Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, Medical Technology or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in clinical flow cytometry within a diagnostic laboratory, clinical applications or application specialist environment, with practical exposure to L&L diagnostics and/or MRD testing (background experience in the field of Research FCM alone is not sufficient.)
- Leadership experience with a proven ability to develop teams, manage change and drive accountability across cross-functional environments
- In-depth expertise in clinical flow cytometry, including guideline-based diagnostics, panel design, sample preparation, acquisition workflows, data interpretation and the identification of analytical pitfalls and root causes impacting result quality
- Proficiency in clinical flow cytometry data analysis software such as Infinicyt, Kaluza or FACSDiva, combined with an affinity for emerging AI-supported diagnostic technologies
- Full understanding of EQA and clinical lab accreditation demands such as CAP
- Strong communication, presentation, training, stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex clinical and diagnostic concepts into clear and audience-appropriate content
- Willingness to relocate to Hamburg and travel across the EMEA region (approx. 30%)
